This month, we are doing things a little differently.  Instead of a member spotlight, we are going to highlight the upcoming Startup Week to let you know about all the great (free!) sessions that may benefit you.  This year’s Fort Collins Startup Week has a couple of new elements including merging with Techstars and also the addition of Artup Week, a companion celebration of the people building up the creative industries, creative environment, and creative community.

Back in October, we met with the organizers of Startup Week to find out what they had planned around the food industry.  We walked out as co-captains of the Food Track as a collaboration with Cultivate Consulting.  February seemed so far away in October, but the days have marched on and now it is almost here.  In the food track alone we have three panel sessions, one presentation and 10 food pop-ups!  Venture beyond the food track and there are over 100 sessions, networking events, consulting and pitch competitions happening over the week!

NCFC Annual Meeting

We are excited to partner once again with Fort Collins Startup Week to offer our Annual Meeting as an open community event!  We will give you updates on the cluster activities in 2017 including the Winter Farmers Market, Kaiser Permanente food insecurity grant and  present findings from the USDA grant designed to support and improve direct to consumer markets in our region.  We will also present outcomes from our strategic planning session and how this will inform the work we do in 2018.

Join us for networking prior to and after the meeting with appetizers by Z Catering and beverages by Horse & Dragon Brewing, Lost Prairie Winery and Summer Hard Cider.

This event is open to the community and will also be listed as a Fort Collins Startup Week activity.  The event is free, but we do ask for you to rsvp as seats are limited.

Culinary Arts 101

Our panelists have a passion for their work that takes them from just a culinary worker to a culinary artist.  We will begin with a larger panelists discussion and then breakout into smaller groups to dig deep into creating success in this industry.  Whether you are considering exploring the pastry arts, cottage foods, coffee, beer, teaching, fine dining or artisan retail, we have you covered.
