JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Chain Grocer Manager works remotely to spearhead all sales and support for the Chain Grocery Accounts. Chain Grocers are stores with more than 10 stores in the LoCo Foods Delivery Territory and currently include Safeway, Natural Grocers, Sprouts Farmers Market and Whole Foods. This role includes brokering new brands into each corporate headquarters, working with vendors and the LoCo Foods Main office to support demos, promos and ensure stores are buying products approved for the stores. This position supervises the Store Level Chain Grocery Local Food Specialist(s) as they insure the chain grocery stores we serve are getting their orders in on time, have product in stock in time for in-store demos, confirm the execution of promos and that all issues around damaged product, schematic resets, special displays or other concerns are addressed in a timely way.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Knowing the producers, brands and products in the LoCo Foods Catalog and others Colorado that we don’t yet work with.
• Working with the LoCo Foods team to insure great customer service.
• Attending all staff meetings by phone or in Fort Collins.
• Communicate Chain Grocers’ Corporate information and requirements to vendors.
• Working with the Vendor Relations Manager, set up and execute promos each month with vendors and the corporate offices of each chain. Confirm with Chain Grocery Local Food Specialist and vendors once promos are approved and running.
• Submit information to the corporate office of each chain for:
o New items
o Price changes
o Any other brand changes
o Promo submissions
o Category Review submissions
• Communicate with Vendors on “how to” submit for category review, promos, demos, etc.
• Oversee the coordination of LoCo Foods Vendor Demo calendar.
• Execute initiatives from chain corporate offices such as holiday specials, new displays and other new programs.
• Supervise and support the Chain Grocer Local Food Specialists, ensuring that they know what tasks to prioritize, how to do all their tasks, and making sure they have the tools to do the work.
• Conduct weekly Chain Grocery Team meetings with Chain Grocery Local Food Specialists to communicate all pertinent information happening in each chain to include but not limited to:
o Resets
o Promos
o Vendor issues
o Product Changes/Discos
o Execution of local programs
o Schematic changes
o Demos and Sampling programs
o Category Reviews
o Newly approved products and timeline for delivery
o Chain Order Form changes
• Spot check a minimum of 1 store per chain quarterly; to ensure Chain Grocery Local Food Specialists are supporting stores, for context on your own work and for market research.
• Maintaining corporate level customer information and notes in online spreadsheet.

• Remarkable organizational skills and the ability to keep track of many things at the same time.
• Highly effective people and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and also know when to ask for help.
• Creative problem-solving skills, flexibility and ability to make things work.
• General understanding of and enthusiasm for the local food movement.
• Highly effective phone, written and verbal communication skills.

Must have great interpersonal skills, valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, personal laptop computer, computer literacy, and be a quick learner.
